This has the advantage of giving you more depth to mount a receptacle box. you can use 3/4 inch material (nominally 1x ) or larger, such as 5/4 stock. you can then cut a hole, using a hole saw through the new block and the siding underneath giving you enough depth for a much deeper box, like this one. Whenever i sell a container to a person who will use it for storage, the person buying it typically asks "what kind of site prep is necessary"? i made this quick video showing some options for. Just after some ideas on how to best mount new powerpoints in a colorbond shed (all steel including framing). i dont plan to line the inside of the walls. obviously you would use the standard plastic mounting blocks but what is the best way to mount them to the walls etc? run timbers on top of the side wall girts and mount to that?.
